The ongoing quest for content
Did you know...
that it was none other than visionary Microsoft founder Bill Gates who coined the phrase “Content is King?” The year was 1996 and Gates wrote in an essay: “Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.” Over 25 years ago, Gates realized how content could directly link to revenue. Now we all know how right he was.
A common problem in B2B companies is dealing with content bottlenecks as various teams continuously clamor for more content. Sales teams looking to close deals need bespoke content that breaks through the noise — and they need it fast — while product champions may want coverage of their new development milestones. These competing demands often leave marketing and design departments overwhelmed and playing catch up.
Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.
